A show of what is new in cut, color and hairstyle for women, with award-winning international hairstylists, and presentation of a Spanish Academy specializing in masculine looks.
With the end of the 14th edition of Creative Color Internacional, held between 31 August and 2 September, alongside the 4th edition of Beauty Fair, the organizers’ assessment is that it was a total success. On stage everything went beautifully. In the presentations, the hairstylists from Europe, North America and Brazil gave a magnificent show in which they displayed what is most modern in cuts, colorings and hairstyles, mixed with fashion productions which indicated research into tendencies for costumes of last century.
Mikel Luzea
The Spanish hairstylist Mikel Luzea, two times winner of the International Association of the International Press (AIPP) prize, was one of the great attractions of the event. As far as he was concerned, Brazilian women, who love to wear long flowing hair, would change their ideas once they appreciated the sheer sensuality of short hair.
Mikel’s tendency combined cutting in layers, common in the 70s, with the asymmetry of the 60s, together with contemporary colorings. The sides and the fringes were highlighted with streaks in lighter tones than the rest of the hair. In Mikel Luzea’s fashion production, the Sigbol Fashion team went for the party look, with pride of place given to strapless dresses and gloves up to the elbow.
Passaró Hombre Group
The Creative Color Internacional stage welcomed a presentation of cuts and colorings exclusively for men, from the Passaró Hombre Group, of Spain, comprising Antonio Fuertes, Roberto Mesones and Javier Mesones. In the masculine looks, they underlined what really needs to be considered: the moustache, the beard, the eyebrows and the sideburns and that, just as in the feminine cuts and colorings, it is important to imagine the result before starting the work. Spiked cuts and tufts were the marks of the Group’s collection. In colorings, gold and chestnut prevailed and hair with highlights.
Sigbol Fashion handled the Group’s fashion production. They created a stripped down casual look, with shirts, check trousers and t-shirts, even worn on the outside.
BSG Brazil Team
Hair Trend & Techniques shows enjoyed presentations by the BSG Brazil group, comprising the hairstylists Susi Merighi, Marina Honda and Alexandre Zucker, who presented the “São Paulo Odyssey” tendency, a combination of quite characteristic styles from the city of São Paulo, which is home to people from all over the country and all over the world. Daring and modern cuts, on female and male heads, including tones which varied from dark chestnut to extremely blond, ranging from tresses with highlights either placed at the top of the head, or otherwise visible only when the hair is shaken, having been applied, deliberately, under all the strands.
The fashion production of the models was handled by SENAC – the Penha unit which hinted at hits for the coming season: skirts, dresses and shorts, waists well-defined and strong colors, such as yellow, orange and black.
Braces, which have tended recently to be absent from the catwalks, were included, even with skirts.
On the models’ feet, the refinement and glamour of products from Brazil’s most fashionable shoemaker, Fernando Pires.
BSG Argentina
The hairstylists from the BSG Argentina team, Fabrizio Raimondo and Gustavo Cochet, and a makeup artist Paola Blanco brought glamour and sophistication to the Creative Color stage with a Beat Collection inspired by great world icons: the English hairstylist Vidal Sassoon, the Beatles, and fashion designer Mary Quant, inventor of the miniskirt. The hair was worn straight and with asymmetrical cuts. When hair was styled, curls dominated totally, executed with very long loose strands. As for color, variation for everyone: blond, light, medium and dark chestnut.
This collection, especially prepared for the event, has just taken the trophy in the eighth Press Publications Competition in Argentina, the competition representing the AIPP - International Association of the International Press – in that country, and will compete as semifinalist in the AIPP’s international competition, which will take place in Bologna, Italy.
Rocco Donna
The collection from the Rocco Donna chain of salons – belonging to hairstylist Leonardo Rocco – from the United States, had medium and short hair and several fringes – most tossed to one side. In coloring he abused tones. He displayed from the very dark – almost black – to the very blond working his way through brown and copper tones. Rocco Donna also exhibited locks with internal streaks, starting well down the roots. The cuts were quite spiked at the back of the head, but the ends were cut almost straight. Almost, because Rocco left a charming unevenness in the strands.
I Sargassi
For those who thought they had seen everything when it came to hair, the Italian Academy I Sargassi, holder of the Excellence in Teaching Hairdressers title, awarded by the European Union, showed something else. Starting with colorings. Blonds just in streaks, apart from that, domination of dark tones. In cuts, models for every taste, from the long to the short. Once again fringes were back. Highlights were also highly favored, in some looks contrasting with strands in much stronger tones than the predominant color, while in other looks the tones were closer to the color of the strands.
In the I Sargassi Academy of Italy’s fashion show, the women came out dressed as men, with broad suits, ties and hats. The visual look, produced by Sigbol Fashion, was in response to the Group’s request which paid tribute to all that women have achieved over recent years.
Andrade Oliveira
The Brazilian Andrade Oliveira, artistic director of the Itallian team, from Itallian Hairtech, transformed the Creative stage into a Parisian cabaret from the turn of the last century, with clothes and accessories from the era mixed in with modern-day hairstyles. In his tendency, Andrade went for fringes, displayed in different ways and in the mixture of cuts with ragged lines along with cuts with more compact lines. Several of the hairstylist’s visuals presented streaked highlights.
